More than ever before, companies are faced with circumstances that force them to rethink the way they create sustainable value as a business - and the way they report on it. The SDGs and the Paris Agreement call for long-term commitment to sustainability. At the same time, consumers and communities alike are pushing for more inclusive forms of capitalism. From fostering socially conscious workplaces to handling the recovery from a global pandemic, companies are asked to play their role in ‘building forward better’.
At Kontrapunkt and Simple Revolution we wanted to get a clearer sense of how Danish companies are tackling these urgent challenges – and how this is reflected in their approach to corporate reporting.
In collaboration with The Danish Confederation of Industries (Dansk Industri), we've conducted a survey among Danish private and public companies. The study sheds light on how Danish companies work with their corporate reports, the challenges they experience, and their level of preparedness when it comes to meeting the new EU taxonomy for Sustainable Finance. Although the study doesn’t offer a comprehensive picture of the Danish reporting landscape, it highlights some important trends and offers some key takeaways which we hope may give way to interesting discussions in your team.
