Kontrapunkt in Japan isn't news in itself. Over the past decades, we have been working with the likes of Denso, Nissan, Tasaki, ASICS Tiger, Danone, DNP, and Andersen Bakery. What started out with a few lectures at leading Japanese universities have turned into several custom typography projects, ambitious brand strategies and full-scale brand identities for some of the most inspiring Japanese companies.
In 2016 Kontrapunkt took another big step, with the opening of our new office. Located in Tokyo’s design hub Aoyama, the building also houses Danish furniture manufacturer, Fritz Hansen and Danish-Japanese start-up Laere, turning it into a small Danish creative community where Wabi-Sabi meets hygge.
As 2017 marks the 150 year anniversary of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Japan, we look forward to building on our shared heritage. Here’s to another 150 years of mutual inspiration, respect, craftsmanship, design excellence and courageous brand building.
