Horten - reinterpreting history
As the clock passed midnight on October 24, 2007, the Danish law firm DLA Nordic changed its name and visual identity to Horten - a change that marks the fact that the law firm had changed its cooperation with the international law firm DLA Piper. The change was the result of DLA Nordic's wish to ensure the firm's continued growth in accordance with an ambitious business strategy.
DLA Nordic came to Kontrapunkt in order to find a strategic brand partner that could guide the law firm through the complex process. Kontrapunkt began by testing and validating a new brand platform that laid the grounds for the naming-process. The new name became "Horten", a reference to the original founder of the company - Hans R. Horten - thus signalling a long and strong history.
The new brand platform and name was then interpreted into a new visual identity. Pivoting around the solid "Horten"-logo, subtle colours and an airy image style, the new identity conveys an atmosphere of a modern and professional company.
Since its foundation in 1953, Horten has grown into a full-service law firm that employs 145 people out of which 75 are lawyers. Among the partners are some of Denmark's leading experts on a wide range of legal specialties.
