KONTRAPUNKT

New logo to Japanese car part alliance going international

Sixteen of Hiroshima vehicle engineering companies joined forces in 2003 and started a new alliance, HIVEC, Hiroshima Vehicle Engineering Company. With the opening of a new design centre and to reflect an international perspective, Kontrapunkt created the new company logo and a stationery line. The new design centre, a building complex bringing together all alliance companies, had its grand opening the 17th November 2006.

THE CITY OF HIROSHIMA

Hiroshima is also the hometown of one of Japans car giants, Mazda. Accordingly, the city has traditionally had a vast network of independent car parts suppliers.

GOING INTERNATIONAL

In order to be competitive on the global market supplying Asian, European and American car companies, the car part manufactures needed to pool expertise and technical skills. By joining forces in HIVEC in 2003, the car part manufacturers could broaden their focus from a local to a more international perspective and offer car companies a one-stop supplier solution.

Therefore, a new logo was required to express this international perspective and to mark the launch of the new design centre.   ///
