Beijing: Kontrapunkt invited to present identity expertise
"Design in Public: The branding of government agencies and companies in Denmark" showing at The China Millennium Monument in Beijing from 8th-18th April 2005.
Kontrapunkt has been invited to create an exhibition in China, sharing our knowledge and experiences over the past 20 years of transforming organisations from being anonymous, inapproachable and uniform monoliths into independent, distinctive and expressive bodies.
The event takes place at The China Millennium Monument in Beijing, which was built as a symbol of China welcoming the year 2000. Today it's an active centre for cultural, artistic and scientific exhibitions.
In this context the exhibition presents a contemporary image of Denmark. An image which Kontrapunkt has been highly influential in achieving, through public design, branding of public spaces and city design.
At the opening, Bo Linnemann made a speech on how an organisation can employ design as an active resource for fostering dialogue with its primary stakeholders. The participants and also the Chinese press showed great interest in the topic, stressing the importance of high quality design, which could be one of the rapidly expanding China's point of difference in the competition with Western countries. ///
