For further information, please contact Vita Mogensen / vmo@kontrapunkt.com or Pernille Lind / pel@kontrapunkt.comKontrapunkt was awarded a prize in the urban planning competition: ”Housing for creative families on Musicon”.
The area Musicon outside Roskilde used to be a concrete factory and some of the remaining buildings are being used for various creative activities. The competition site contains 6.000 square meters of land, which should be able to contain a flexible structure that allows a build of 30 – 40 individual family houses.
Our proposal focuses on providing the future inhabitants of the area lots of surrounding recreational space. By elevating some of the individual plots from the ground, we created activity areas both on the plots and underneath them thereby ensuring diversity and creating a dynamic building structure – this was an inspiration for the project title ‘The Ant Farm’. The solution allows for more public and individual recreational space and activates all layers in a three dimensional grid.
