DanID – the company behind NemID – asked Kontrapunkt to make a logo and visual identity for the new digital signature. The design challenge was to create a logo that was both appealing to all Danes above 18 years and worked in a co-branding-context with multiple stakeholders. The solution is a simple yet recognizable logo combining security and flexibility.
“The logo design is inspired by the product itself, which basically is security in numbers - the design is comprised of two components: numbers and pictogram”, says Lars Bjørnstad, Kontrapunkt’s designer behind the custom-made logo and numbers.
The design concept is based on the key-card being the primary element in the solution. Custom-made numbers, letters and pictograms are used as a superior graphic element creating a vivid communication and recognisable identity.
“Visually, the pictograms add a more personal and emotional touch to the identity - the custom-made numbers are used in uncommon ways such as the E in NemID being a reverse 3 and the pictograms make it easy for users to recognise and understand the new NemID”, says Lars Bjørnstad, Kontrapunkt.
NemID was launched on July 1, 2010.
